Jan 2026: I am in the job market - academic microscope core or lab preferred, industry possible. U.S. preferred, Canada possible (if work visa etc), other countries can discuss. I currently live in Galveston TX, can move anywhere for the right job. During my UIC days, I took care of over 1000 customers, 5 US salespeople and various distributors worldwide by phone email, occasional visits to customer labs, occasionally they visited HQ - so could work remotely.
I am probably best known for
Tiki_Goddess = my mascot (7 foot tall poster in my lab or office), background images here (whole digital slide image, 40×14 mm, acquired with Pathscan Enabler, 35mm film scanner, 2 passes, plus Photoshop). http://www.geomcnamara.com/tiki_goddess
PubSpectra = collaboration with Carl Boswell, 2006 Cytometry A publication and fluorescence spectra web site. Oirignal Excel download site now gone (could send through my Microsoft Teams) - see also my Data page (tables from my Excel content, GUI is Tableau, implemented by my friend Jahan Khalili).
Fluorescence microscopist - academic microscope core manager 3 times, confocal microscopes (Leica SP1, SP5, SP8; Zeiss LSM510, LSM710; Olympus FV1000MPE, FV3000RS, etc), widefield microscopes including FISHscope (JHU, http://confocal.jhu.edu/current-equipment/fishscope/ ), plus worked in various labs, and UIC and ASI (below). Live cell microscopy, including discovery of how the chemotactic morphogenetic movements of Dictyostelium discoideum streamerF mutant (cGMP PDE gene) explaining mutant phenotype (centimeter length aggregation streams instead of usual sub millimeter; quick explanation: mutant cells step 1 um, wildtype 20 um per chenoattractant wave, leaving the field of cells to propagate more waves).
MetaMorph amd MetaFluor - initial Applications Scientist (1992-1997) at UIC (cofounded by Shinya Inoue, President was Ted Inoue). We hadf over 1000 customers when I left - many leading cell biologists or neuroscientists.
Spectral Pathology (SPY), now known as Spatial Biology - SPY was a play on Spectral Karyotyping (SKY).
Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cells from working in Laurence Cooper’s lab twice), Mike Jensen; also have some knowledge of TCR’s etc.
